Marsilea is a small family winery, founded in 2001, with our own vineyards in organic cultivation. We are located in Sinarcas, on a small high plateau in the inland Valencia province, at an altitude of between 900 and 1000 metres above sea level. We have a continental Mediterranean climate (Köppen Csa/Csb). The altitude and distance from the sea cause a high daily thermal range (over 15 °C between day and night), especially noticeable in spring and autumn. In this way, Sinarcas combines the brightness and dryness of the Mediterranean with the extreme temperatures of a continental climate, ideal for growing the vine. Today we farm 40 hectares of vineyard, spread across 22 plots, with different soils, altitudes, surfaces, orientations, rootstocks and ages. This singular characteristic clearly gives a marked differentiation to each of our wines. We grow grapes of the following varieties. Reds: Bobal, Merlot, Syrah and Tempranillo. Whites: Verdejo and Gewürztraminer.

Free from the conventions and constraints of denominations of origin, we started the journey on our own. We were the first winery in the Valencian Community to produce wines from the white varieties Verdejo and Gewürztraminer, from grapes grown in our own vineyards in organic cultivation. We were also the first to make and bottle a single-variety wine from our native and at-the-time unknown Bobal variety. All our wines are certified organic y certificación de variedad y de añada.
